Cornwall is a stunning part of England and St Ives is the perfect base from which to explore further.

 

The beaches in and around St Ives are lovely with their golden sands. Most have friendly cafes for snacks or meals.

 

The town of St Ives has a great collection of shops, from surf and lifestyle clothing to modern art galleries. It also boasts some wonderful dining experiences from bakers to fine dining restaurants.

 

There are also some lovely coastal walks around the St Ives Bay area.

This small fishing town encircled by sea and beaches, St Ives has attracted artists to work there ever since the arrival of the railway in the 1870s. The special quality of light resulting from its position on the peninsula has attracted artists of all persuasions, and for a period in the 20th Century, St Ives was considered the centre of British artistic activity, attracting the likes of Barbara Hepworth, Ben Nicholson, Patrick Heron and Terry Frost.

As well as Tate St Ives, the Barbara Hepworth Museum, the Bernard Leach Pottery and Museum at the top of town, discover the many other galleries dotted about the town.

Lively Restaurants...

St Ives has some of the best eateries around. With an eclectic selection of restaurants, cafés and bars offering a wonderful variation and something to suit every palate.

 

Whether family-friendly or romantic fine-dining, the town’s eateries have access to the best, fresh local seafood, hand-reared livestock and organic fruit and vegetables. Many have sea views which makes the perfect backdrop for equally delicious Cornish cuisine.

Surfing, Yoga and all that...

There is so many outdoor activities to enjoy in the town and around the Bay area including waterspouts, yoga and meditation.

 

There are fantastic local surf beaches with several surf schools offering various types of training and skills from the beginner to the more experienced surfer. If its a more sedate pace you are seeking there are various local yoga sessions and classes offering you the opportunity to escape everyday life and enhance your wellbeing.

Hiking the Coastal Path...

There are also the more easier walks around country parks and estates all over Cornwall.

There are shorter visits to: Land's End; the Minack theatre; St Michael's Mount; Newquay Zoo; the Seal Santuary; Geevor Tin Mine; Tintagel Castle and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, to name but a few.
